You have successfully created a Streams Beta account!

Get started with Streams in 3 easy steps:

1. Log in to the Streams app on your mobile device with your username  (your username is: {USERNAME}) and password.

2. Navigate to your Streams Settings by clicking the gear icon located in the top-right corner of the screen.

3. Configure the Streams you’re interested in (e.g., news, email, social media, etc.).  We recommend adding some news keywords to track the topics you’re interested in (e.g. “politics”, “wireless charging”, etc.) and your email address* to get a sense for how Streams can become your new one-stop-shop for all of your digital content.

When you’re done setting up your Streams, click the back arrow to return to the main Streams viewer and pull down the page to refresh your newly configured Streams.

More Streams features:

You can also reveal the main navigation menu by clicking the ellipsis icon in the top-left corner of the Streams app and explore everything the app has to offer. For example, you can update your shipping address and track your orders by clicking on the “Profile” tab, or control/configure Streams devices you currently own (or visit the marketplace to get new devices).

If you have suggestions or run into any issues (remember, this is a non-public Beta release), you can use our app to post directly to the Streams beta portal. Simply navigate to the “About” tab and let us know what’s up.

We hope you enjoy Streams, and look forward to making it the new must-have companion app together!

Thank you for your support.

*The mail Stream currently works with Gmail only. We will be adding support for other email services in a future build.

A new way to charge.

Until now, charging has been about one thing: making that little battery meter fill up. When you charge with Glowdeck, your phone acts like a key, transforming Glowdeck into a personal notifications platform.

A companion for your smartphone.

Transform the Way You Stay Connected

Wireless Charging

Charge any Qi-compatible device simply by setting it down on Glowdeck’s surface. When you set your phone down to charge, it acts like a key, activating your personalized Streams (such as Weather, Email, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, News, Local, Alerts, etc.) across the bottom of your display. And Glowdeck even recognizes which device is yours when you set it to sync.

No need to plug your phone in any more. Though, if you prefer, Glowdeck also includes a wired USB charging port for maximum flexibility.

Some phones come with wireless charging functionality built in – others can be wireless charge-enabled with an accessory.

Bluetooth Speakers

A pair of high-quality stereo speakers, an embedded noise-cancelling microphone, and a state-of-the-art Bluetooth 4.0 module combine to bring you the best Bluetooth experience on the market.

With Music Sync, Glowdeck’s light system synchronizes to your music in real-time, performing a unique light show that brings a visual element to your listening experience.

A Virtual, Voice-Activated Secretary accessible directly through Glowdeck’s mic and speakers. Just press the front edge of Glowdeck and ask about the weather, make a speakerphone call, schedule a meeting, and more, all without ever touching your voice assistant-enabled smartphone.

Mobile Notifications

Glowdeck harnesses Bluetooth’s data capabilities to ensure that any notifications you have enabled on your smartphone get piped into your Streams.

Fully customizable light settings allow you to control how you get notified of new information.

Update your settings to alerts you to severe weather, blink when you receive a call from your mom, or display what song is currently playing. Set your preferences to help you manage your most important notifications, or the ones that are just for fun.

Glowdeck keeps you connected to your mobile notifications while your device charges.

An All New Operating System for Your Notifications

The stuff that matters to you, now in one place

The Details

Glowdeck is the first product to feature Streams™, a brand new OS that will change the way you stay informed in today’s fast-paced digital world.

Streams is an OS that you customize to track the information you care about. When the OS detects something new, it notifies you with light displays general information about the incoming content. For example, if you receive a new email, Glowdeck will display the name of the sender and the subject line. For a breaking news story on a topic you’re interested in, you will see the press source and the headline.

Glowdeck’s display was designed to give you a bird’s-eye-view of incoming digital notifications. When something catches your eye, simply pick up your smartphone and the Streams app will contain a log of all your notifications from that day, in chronological order. Click on the one you’re interested in, and it will take you directly to that content. You can also dismiss Streams that you’re not interested in using the app, or directly through Glowdeck, using the Press mechanism. Press left/right to advance to the previous/next Stream, or, Press front to dismiss the currently displayed Stream and it won’t show up again.

Glowdeck® – Maple Edition

Glowdeck® v4.1 is on the App Store

Install Glowdeck® v4.0 for iOS (Requires iOS v8.4 – v9.1)

Click the link above from the Safari browser on your iOS device to install the most recent build of the Glowdeck app.

  • After installing, iOS 9 users need to go to Settings -> General -> Profile -> Power Light & Sound Company, and click “Trust” before the app will launch.
  • Select “Allow” when prompted to enable the app to use your location for local forecast and event data.
  • Watch the entire Glowdeck Video Tour video for a look at how to properly setup your Glowdeck. This is highly recommended during the course of the beta program.
  • If you experience issues using the Glowdeck app and you have the current version of iOS, try the following (and let us know if either helps):
    • Temporarily change your regional settings (Settings -> General -> Language & Region) to the following:
      • iPhone Language: English
      • Region: United States
    • Quit the Glowdeck app; open the Music app, start playing a song; then relaunch the Glowdeck app.

  • You can now add and customize events/alarms by touching and holding an event tile. Test out the new alarm event feature with sequenced light and fade-in music routines.
  • The app now automatically connects to Glowdeck upon launch if one is detected (if there is more than one Glowdeck nearby, it will display a list that you can choose from).
  • The app also automatically manages the firmware update process. If you are connecting to a Glowdeck for the first time from this app, you will almost certainly be prompted to update your firmware, and you must do so in order to use the app. This process takes about 5 minutes – do not interrupt it while it is uploading (neither on your phone nor on Glowdeck). In the future, the app will prompt you to upload new firmware as new builds are published.
  • The app will ask permission to use your location for automatically retrieving local forecast and event data on first launch. Some features may not work properly if you deny this permission when prompted.
  • Add music or press play on first launch, and then be sure to read and follow the one-time setup alert pop-up messages to link audio and messages (in addition to data). I am working with Apple to automate these setup routines, but for now, the pop-ups provide easy to follow steps if you read their contents before dismissing them.

  • iOS devices displaying 24-hour time do not sync properly with Glowdeck’s clock.
  • Internationalization issues persist for some regional settings.
  • If you are connected to audio and messages (Bluetooth Classic) and then disconnect from data (Bluetooth LE), some options that only work with a data link remain enabled. Also a harmless bug, but you will have to select Connect from the drop-down navigation menu to reestablish a data link before these buttons/UI-elements will do anything.
  • Event settings reset to defaults if you close and then reopen the app. This will be fixed in the next build, along with the new types of configurable events you can add.
